Who is Kirsty Swadling?

I am a barrister and mediator with over 25 years’ experience in litigation and dispute resolution over a wide range of legal issues with particular emphasis on civil and family disputes.
Prior to becoming a barrister in 2004, I was litigation partner at an Auckland law firm for 11 years. I provide a quality, down to earth, easy to understand and friendly service. I work with clients to ensure that they are fully involved in the decisions relating to their legal matters by ensuring full understanding and ownership of the legal issues and processes. I am the chair of the executive committee of the Family Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society and past Convener of the Auckland District Law Society Family Law Subcommittee. I am an experienced mediator. I am accredited to the NZLS Family Specialist Panel of Mediators and an associate member of the Arbitrators and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ). I undertake FDR mediations and am available to be instructed for private mediations. I am experienced in working with clients in a collaborative dispute resolution model and am a member of The Collaborative Law Association of New Zealand |
